The Global Entrepreneurial Initiative (GEI) is a forum and organization upon which to advance the state of entrepreneurship not only here in America but across the globe. This is our “Purpose Statement”.
GEI is organized to provide awareness to the general public and business community concerning the importance of entrepreneurial activities to national economies and the overall global economy. Free enterprise to support the advancement of democratic ideals will be emphasized and the global commercial languages. This will be accomplished through "free"educational programs, blogs, websites, and other such means to carry out the goals and objectives of GEI. This is our “Mission Statement”.
Political leaders from every country acknowledge the growing importance of entrepreneurship within their respective borders and the employment-generating juggernaut it creates. Even though these politicians stand up and lead the entrepreneurial parade, they actually do little to help entrepreneurs. The Panic of 2008 proved that firsthand. The “big guys” could run to the FED “window” and borrow money to stay afloat, but millions of smaller entrepreneurs were left to survive by their own means. Many did not because of the credit crunch that ensued following the Panic.
In the United States, business start-ups are but fifty (50) percent of that during the Reagan era, and business failures now exceed business starts. Entrepreneurial innovation is lagging.
The disappearance of international borders and integration of the global economy will create untold prospects for business enterprise in many nations. It is important that entrepreneurs fight for their fair share and to seek international opportunities. Not only will it contribute to the profitability of individual businesses, but it also promotes peace, understanding, and democratic ideals among peoples of different ethnic and national orientations.
GEI seeks to bring together global entrepreneurs to discuss issues and topics important to its mission statement and to carry forward those interactions to the higher levels of national governments through its media contacts.
The Initiative supports “intrapreneurship” also known as Corporate Entrepreneurship. This orphaned field has fostered many commercial innovations including the “sticky notes”, developed by 3M Corporation. Johnson & Johnson is a proponent and employs intrapreneurs to develop new products.
